AGM 2024
The Progressive Professional Forum (PPF), Kuwait convened its Annual
General Meeting (AGM) on February 16, 2024, at Hotel Crowne Plaza, marking a
significant moment for the organization as it elected its new office bearers
for the upcoming term.
The AGM, attended by members of the PPF community, showcased the
democratic spirit of the organization as it engaged in passionate discussions
about various activities and later unanimously elected a new leadership. Among
the key highlights of the meeting were the new initiatives proposed to increase
PPF Kuwait’s activities, foster professional growth, and advance progressive
ideals in Kuwait's professional landscape. The AGM elected a 25-member
executive committee of passionate individuals committed to driving the PPF's
mission forward.
Echoing the concerns of students and parents in Kuwait, a resolution
seeking that Govt of India reinstate the NEET Exam Centers outside India including
Kuwait, was unanimously passed in the AGM. The decision to withdraw the test
centers outside India by the NTA (National Testing Agency) has left many NRI
families grappling with uncertainty and financial strain, members of the AGM stated.
The challenges faced by NRI parents are multifold including the exorbitant
airfares and logistical hurdles associated with traveling to India are
aggravating the situation. This needs to be immediately rectified.
Following the protocols, the new executive committee met and elected its
new leadership team. For the term 2024-26, PPF Kuwait will be led by Prasanth
Warrier (President), Shaji Madathil (Secretary), and Sreejith Palakkurishi
(Treasurer). Adv. Smitha M. Kumar as Vice President, and Jithin Prakash as
Joint Secretary form the complete team.
Accepting their new roles, the new office bearers placed on record their
gratitude and thanks to the outgoing executive team led by President Adv.
Thomas Stephen and Secretary Sherly Sasirajan for their valuable contribution
and inspiring stewardship.
